MAN Truck & Bus can look back on a successful 2018. The company achieved significant growth in all three product divisions - Truck, Bus and Van - in terms of revenue, order intake and vehicle sales.

Iveco presented the new Daily at a two-day event in Turin. It is intended to set standards in terms of on-board comfort and driving experience and address megatrends such as digitalization, automation, electrification and servitization.

Trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull has expanded its capacities in Lithuania. On March 22, a new foaming press for the production of the Ferroplast insulation system was put into operation at the plant in Panevėžys, Lithuania.

The logistics service provider Dachser continued to grow in the 2018 financial year. The company was able to increase its net turnover by 5.5 percent.

DB Schenker and FUSO cooperate
DB Schenker and the Daimler subsidiary FUSO are further expanding their cooperation in the field of e-trucks. In March, DB Schenker took delivery of four additional FUSO eCanter trucks for urban distribution transport in Paris, Frankfurt and the Stuttgart area.

New location for transport service provider
The Swiss transport and logistics service provider Krummen Kerzers is focusing on growth. The company has now opened a site in Weil am Rhein in Baden-Württemberg.

IHK project: International skilled workers
Commercial vehicle rental company PEMA welcomed four trainees from Spain to Herzberg on March 11. As part of a twelve-month adaptation qualification, they are training to become "automotive mechatronics technicians specializing in commercial vehicle technology".

2018 was an average year for breakdowns. The ADAC Truck Service was called out to a total of 39,797 breakdowns. That
0.88 percent less than in the previous year.

Vehicle fleet for team logistics
Iveco is the official truck partner of the Alfa Romeo Racing team and recently officially handed over 12 Stralis trucks and a Daily van to the team in Hinwil (Switzerland). Thomas Rücker, Business Director IVECO Switzerland, handed over the vehicles to Axel Kruse, COO of Sauber Motorsport AG.

The technology for the so-called last mile is now also available in North America. The Bremen-based company RYTLE and the American commercial vehicle manufacturer Silver Eagle Manufacturing from Portland (Oregon) are cooperating.

The Daimler subsidiary FUSO has switched to ADAC Truckservice. The Laichingen-based company recently became responsible for mobility management for the Japanese commercial vehicle brand.

With a pitch event to which 18 international start-ups from the fields of e-mobility, connected transport and intelligent supply chain were invited, the Munich-based company aims to find and promote innovative concepts for its own business.

The Codognotto Group uses Timocom's Smart Logistics System directly via its own transport management system (TMS) SGA.

Timocom remains on course for growth. The pan-European IT company made the biggest leap in 2018 with applications for the digitalization of order management in logistics.
