2018 was an average year for breakdowns. The ADAC Truck Service was called out to a total of 39,797 breakdowns. That

Damage to bodies, chassis, tail lifts, refrigeration units and hydraulics was less than one percent in each case. Most truck breakdowns were reported in July and August. When the mercury reached the 38-degree mark on August 6, ADAC Truckservice recorded its highest number of calls for the year with 1150. The prolonged summer heat was particularly hard on truck tires. Although heat alone cannot harm modern tires, in combination with insufficient air pressure or damage, there is an increased risk of punctures.
