Schuon relies on a sustainable fleet

In 2025, the Alfred Schuon company will integrate 68 new trucks, including trailers and semi-trailers, into its fleet at the Haiterbach and Veszprém (Hungary) sites. Among the new acquisitions: Mercedes-Benz Actros L with aerodynamically optimized ProCabins and two fully electric eActros 600 tractor units.

"With our new vehicles, we are not only focusing on state-of-the-art technology and improved driving comfort: with the new additions of ProCabins and the all-electric tractor units, we are taking another step towards greater sustainability," says Alexander Schuon, Managing Director of the Alfred Schuon Group.

New eActros take over shuttle tours

The first of two new eActros 600s is already in use, with delivery of the second planned for the fall. This will increase the electric fleet to three fully electric trucks, supplemented by several hybrid cars. The battery-powered trucks take on fixed shuttle tours, where the necessary charging infrastructure is integrated into the logistics processes.

"The entry into electromobility is an important part of our green logistics strategy," says Schuon. "It's about gaining experience and advancing the use of sustainable transport solutions under real-life conditions. Many drivers tend to be skeptical - so it is all the more important to convince them with well thought-out logistics concepts and excellent driving characteristics."

With the exception of the eActros, all new acquisitions are high-volume vehicles. MAN jumbo trailer combinations as well as Mercedes-Benz Actros mega trailers and jumbo trailer combinations - some equipped with truck-mounted forklifts - are used. They are used on fixed shuttle tours and Europe-wide tramp transports.
