LEO flow in use at Alber Eger
Smart automated material flow
Albert Eger digitizes its production supply with the AGV LEO flow from Bito-Lagertechnik. The solution automates material transportation even in tight spaces, increases process reliability and reduces the workload of employees.
Albert Eger, a manufacturer of paper cores and winding cores, relies on the LEO flow automated guided vehicle system from BITO-Lagertechnik for the production of paper cores and winding cores. The aim of the automation is to make the material flow more efficient, to digitalize processes and to be able to react flexibly to changing customer requirements despite limited storage space.
LEO flow takes over the automatic supply of empty and full cartons to the production machines. Each transporter is assigned to a machine and independently transports filled cartons to palletizing and empty cartons back to the production line. The automated control system structures processes, reduces errors and increases process reliability. The system can be integrated into existing conveyor technology to save space and is particularly suitable for tight production environments. Height differences between machines, storage locations and conveyor systems can be flexibly compensated for.
Automation is also Albert Eger's response to the shortage of skilled workers. The reduced manpower requirement enables the company to cover order peaks flexibly in three-shift operation. "We have largely replaced manual work with automation and can therefore also offer our customers reliable security in terms of the repeatability of parts," says Viktor Epp, Managing Director of Albert Eger.
