Visual Guidance for More Efficient Picking

Kardex announces the launch of the Intuitive Picking Assistant for the Kardex Shuttle. The new solution supports operators with intuitive visual guidance and is designed to make order picking even easier. The solution was first unveiled at Logimat 2026 in Stuttgart.

The Intuitive Picking Assistant (IPA) approach: Visual work instructions are displayed directly at the Kardex Shuttle’s access opening. Operators see the picking location and quantity information visually highlighted there. Virtual confirmation buttons are projected into the employees’ field of view. This eliminates the need to switch between the access opening and a separate control unit. Integrated camera technology detects hand movements in real time and provides visual feedback to prevent incorrect picks.

"The Intuitive Picking Assistant for Kardex Shuttle underscores our commitment to developing automation solutions that are not only highly efficient but also intuitive and easy to use," says Philipp Hobitz, Product Manager for Kardex Shuttle at Kardex. "As warehouse processes become increasingly complex, companies need technologies that simplify workflows and support operators right at their workstations—and that’s exactly where the Intuitive Picking Assistant comes in."

Right at the access opening, the IPA for Kardex Shuttle uses an ergonomic, flexible interaction pad designed to improve ease of use during order picking.

Global availability is planned for late 2026. In addition, the solution is compatible with the Kardex Power Pick Cloud as well as selected software solutions from the Kardex Power Pick System.
