Aiming for uniform quality
ADAC Truckservice appoints lighthouse partner
The mobility service provider has restructured its workshop network, which has grown since it was founded in the 1980s, with 180 partners at 800 locations, and is launching the new lighthouse concept.
In future, the core will be so-called lighthouse partners, who will provide breakdown assistance and workshop services in every region of Germany according to uniform service profiles and quality standards and at fixed rates. The launch will take place in September with 23 lighthouses.
"Our goal is to set the gold standard in commercial vehicle mobility: Fast, inexpensive and professional. Over the past three years, we have developed the best and most efficient ADAC truck service network ever in order to be able to repair every breakdown with the same quality and, if possible, on site," says Dirk Fröhlich, Managing Director of ADAC Truckservice in Laichingen.
One new feature, for example, is that an emergency breakdown call is no longer automatically forwarded to the nearest garage, but is always handled by the lighthouse partner responsible for the region. "Our top priority is 'repairing instead of towing'. However, the nearest garage is not automatically the most suitable when it comes to repairing complex damage at the scene of the breakdown. Only specialists can do that," emphasizes Fröhlich.
Each lighthouse therefore covers the entire portfolio of commercial vehicle technology services in its region itself or with the help of highly specialized partners. In this way, towing can be avoided and repair times can be shortened. When selecting its beacons, ADAC Truckservice focused on broad-based and growth-oriented workshops that continuously invest in new technologies and equipment as well as employee training. A specially developed bonus system offers partners additional incentives for continuous further development.
The course was set in 2019 for the performance-oriented expansion and conversion of the ADAC service network for trucks according to quality criteria. The launch of the ADAC Truckservice lighthouse network is the final component of the "WerkstattPlus" quality and sustainability program, which ADAC Truckservice launched together with its partner network in order to reduce bureaucracy and improve processes for workshops and customers alike.
The central measure was the introduction of a workshop remuneration system that supports transparency and investment in quality. As part of this, spare parts prices were also standardized on the basis of the RRP of leading spare parts suppliers and a vehicle-related hourly rate with per-minute billing was introduced for customers and workshops.
