Over 60 new trucks

Schuon relies on a sustainable fleet

In 2025, the Alfred Schuon company will integrate 68 new trucks, including trailers and semi-trailers, into its fleet at the Haiterbach and Veszprém (Hungary) sites. Among the new acquisitions: Mercedes-Benz Actros L with aerodynamically optimized ProCabins and two fully electric eActros 600 tractor units.

Automated trucks: live tests in Hamburg city traffic

As part of the EU MODI project, two successful practical tests on the automation of heavy goods traffic were carried out this spring - both in the inner city area of Hamburg and on the highway. The project partners tested two important use cases in May with the involvement of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

TST initiates depot charging network for e-trucks

The TST Group wants to usher in a new era of truck electrification with a cooperative-oriented depot charging network. TST is building an ecosystem for charging heavy commercial vehicles and delivery fleets that covers all relevant aspects: from digital networking and guaranteed charging prices to standardized billing. The energy supply is to come from 100 percent renewable sources.

"DRivE" project partners complete successful test phase

The "Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components" (PEM) chair at RWTH Aachen University has successfully completed the pilot phase of the "DRivE" research project together with partners. In a two-month field trial, software was tested that is intended to enable reliable route planning in the transport sector with regard to ranges and charging points on board trucks with alternative drive systems.

Noerpel Group tests hydrogen trucks

On July 25, Noerpel started the test phase with a hydrogen truck at the Heidenheim site. After two weeks, the Noerpel Group draws a positive interim conclusion about the 18-ton truck in terms of performance and driving characteristics, but remains open to new technologies.

Gruber Logistics tests emission-free trucks

On July 9 and 10, Gruber Logistics successfully transported a zero-emission vehicle cabin from the Iveco plant in Ulm to the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Vienna. The company is also responsible for the six-month operational project phase of two zero-emission heavy-duty vehicle prototypes scheduled for 2026.

Fewer freight entries in 2023

In the fourth quarter of 2023, there was a total of 18% more freight entries than in the previous year. The increase at the end of the year is partly due to the fact that demand rose in particular as a result of seasonal activities such as the Christmas business, restocking and increased consumer activity before the holidays.
