Bionic back exoskeleton takes the strain out of order picking

Order picking beverages is a daily challenge and puts enormous strain on employees' backs. The Riegele brewery uses the Bionic Back exoskeleton from Htrius to relieve its employees and improve working conditions.

The system combines flexibility and rigidity, relief and posture and adapts ideally to the natural shape of the spine. Despite its high performance, the BionicBack weighs just 1,180 grams and can be easily combined with different types of workwear.

The family brewery's logistics center in Augsburg is responsible for the distribution of beverages in the region. This job requires physical exertion. Picking crates and kegs in particular, where a crate weighs around 18 kg and a keg around 42 kg, is a strain on the back.
