Geberit Relys on Automated Intralogistics

At the Geberit plant in Bromölla, a new fleet of driverless transport vehicles is handling key logistics tasks. Still’s automated solution manages the flow of materials and connects systems, vehicles, and employees.

Until now, the factory in Bromölla had been using two different systems that were not compatible with each other. This made coordination difficult and resulted in a lack of clarity regarding the production process. To fully automate production, a new, comprehensive solution was needed that would integrate the entire process, from transportation to control. “We were looking for a supplier who could provide a complete solution for our automated production,” says Markus Knutsson, project manager at Geberit.

System and Vehicles Working Together

Still provided a solution in which the system, driverless EXV iGo high-lift trucks, and service personnel work together seamlessly. The iGo control system automatically processes all incoming transport orders and assigns the tasks to the AGVs. It is directly connected to Geberit’s production system and has been customized for simple and seamless operation via the on-site operators’ screens.

Data Overview Simplifies Planning

At the same time, iGo insights collects data around the clock and provides a clear overview of the automated warehouse and its processes. This facilitates proactive work and long-term planning—all within the same tool. Operational reliability is further enhanced by Still’s service contract and 24/7 support.

Twelve automated high-lift trucks

Geberit’s forklift fleet consists of twelve custom-built automated high-lift forklifts. The new solution has led to a more stable transport process, a safer work environment, and higher production availability. “We are very pleased that we now have better availability and a clear overview, and that we have a system that addresses all of our challenges,” says Knutsson.
