DFT's New Sorter Test Center for Field Testing
DFT – Dürkopp Fördertechnik is opening a sorter test center in Borgholzhausen. This will enable the company to allow customers to test their own products, shipping cartons, packages, and shipping containers on various sorting technologies under real-world conditions.
The new test center is designed for companies in the e-commerce, apparel, pharmaceutical wholesale, electronics, and industrial sectors, as well as those in parcel and postal logistics, that want to gain early insights into how their goods are sorted—in order to validate technical requirements and design future facilities based on solid data.
“Every product behaves differently during the sorting process. With our test center, we give customers the opportunity to test their own products, shipping boxes, or packages under real-world conditions. This allows them to identify early on how their goods will behave in the system and gain valuable insights for designing their future sorting solution,” explains Dirk Bockelmann, CEO and Managing Director of DFT.
In addition to conducting customer-specific tests, the facility also serves as a demonstration, training, and development environment. New features and technologies can be tested under real-world conditions and further developed in collaboration with customers. Within the Knapp Group, DFT serves as a center of excellence for sorting technology and is responsible for the development and refinement of various sorting solutions for international markets.
