Gebhardt Intralogistics strengthens North American business through local production

In addition to supplementing existing production processes, central automation components are also to be manufactured in the USA in future. There are plans to expand the plant in Streetsboro, Ohio, by an additional 3,670 m² of production space, bringing the total area to 10,270 m².

Increased regional production in North America

With these investments, Gebhardt Intralogistics will be able to supply and support customers in North America with automation systems and technologies. Gebhardt Intralogistics currently imports several key automation components from Gebhardt Fördertechnik's headquarters in Sinsheim, Germany.

"We want to ensure that our customers receive the best possible product with shorter delivery times and on-site service," explained Juergen Conrad, CEO of Gebhardt Intralogistics North America. "The ability to save some transportation costs is also critical for large automation projects. Many of our customers are bringing their production back to the US and investing heavily in their intralogistics processes - both in distribution and manufacturing. It is only logical that we work with them as a reliable partner and support them where their production sites are located," continues Conrad.

The manufacturing processes will be based on the proven standards from Germany. Ralf Buerkle, COO of Gebhardt Intralogistics North America, will be responsible for setting up and integrating the expanded production facility in Streetsboro.
