Reimer Logistics lays foundation stone for Hansalinie Logistics Center
With the first construction phase for the Logistik Center Hansalinie (LCH), Reimer Logistics is creating a basis for the company's further growth. The logistics center, located in the immediate vicinity of Bremer Kreuz, is set to become the hub for the company's port-related logistics services in northern Germany.
Bremen's Parliament President Christian Weber and Reimer Logistics Managing Director Simon Reimer laid a cassette filled with coins, a daily newspaper and construction plans in the foundation stone of the building in the presence of Bremen industrial architect Thomas Gänger and the construction workers involved. The longest-serving employee of the logistics company, warehouse employee Michael Krupinski (with the company since 1991) and Jana Lehmann, a trainee in freight forwarding and logistics services, accompanied the laying of the foundation stone.
Completion of the first, approximately 10,000 square meter construction phase is planned for spring 2019, with a three-storey, 1,500 square meter office complex. Over the next four years, six construction phases with a total of up to 60,000 square meters of hall space are to be built on the 120,000 square meter site. 30,000 square meters of this is planned as a multi-user center. "The new logistics center is one of the largest investments in our company's history and an important milestone in securing the future of our company," emphasized Simon Reimer, who is the third generation to manage the logistics company. Reimer Logistics has seven locations throughout Germany and over 125 network partners worldwide. Around 40 jobs are to be created at LCH, while the Bremen Überseestadt site is to be retained.
