Prologis starts first construction phase
Major project in Dortmund
Prologis has started construction of the Dortmund DC4WARD logistics, commercial and light industrial park. Around 130,000 square meters of modern space with a focus on sustainability and energy-efficient operation will be built on the former industrial site in Dortmund-Dorstfeld by 2028.
Prologis has started the first construction phase of what is currently its largest development project in Germany. A logistics, commercial and light industrial park with a total of around 130,000 square meters of building space is being built on the brownfield site in Dortmund-Dorstfeld, which measures around 278,000 square meters.
In the first construction phase, two properties with seven units and around 62,000 square meters of space will be built. Completion is planned for the first half of 2027. Photovoltaic systems with a capacity of 4.3 MWp will also be installed. Prologis is aiming for DGNB Platinum certification for the new buildings. A total of four logistics buildings and three commercial and light industrial buildings are planned. The flexibly usable units are aimed at companies from sectors such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, food, technology and e-commerce.
The location is in close proximity to the A40, A45 and A2 highways and offers good connections to the Rhine-Ruhr region, regional airports and inland ports.
The project is based on sustainable construction and operating concepts. All-electric buildings, heat pumps, solar power and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and e-bikes are planned. Green roofs and a central park are also intended to promote biodiversity and quality of stay.
