Dachser strengthens logistics location Memmingen
Investment worth millions in the Allgäu
Dachser is investing around EUR 30 million in the expansion of its Allgäu logistics center in Memmingen. A new facility for industrial and consumer goods with additional handling, storage and office space will be built by spring 2027.
Dachser is building a new logistics facility on an area of eight hectares in Memmingen's northern industrial estate. The plans include 11,000 square meters of handling space, 2,750 square meters of storage space and 1,000 square meters of office space. At the same time, 125 trucks can be loaded and unloaded there in future. Around 90 additional jobs are to be created by mid-2027.
The new facility will be equipped with modern digital and sustainability standards. These include the "ILO" technology, which automatically recognizes and measures packages. Charging infrastructure for electric trucks, a photovoltaic system with a peak output of 1 megawatt and district heating are also planned.
The Allgäu logistics center in Memmingen is Dachser's largest operational location worldwide, with 1.3 million shipments transported per year and storage capacity for almost 200,000 pallets.
