Arvato, together with technology partner AutoStore and system integrator Kardex, has expanded the AutoStore system at the Hams Hall site near Birmingham. The expansion follows the initial implementation in 2023 and was completed in just over three months. The system now operates with 165 robots, manages 87,600 bins and enables the storage of almost 1.2 million units. At peak times, over 26,000 orders can be picked per day, an increase of 53% compared to manual picking solutions.

Steven Pitt, Head of Operations at the Hams Hall site, explains: "The compact design and high level of automation have maximized the use of warehouse space while reducing costs - allowing us to onboard new customers faster and more efficiently." The expansion was triggered by the integration of a new international customer in the technical sportswear sector, which requires flexible and reliable fulfillment solutions for the UK market. "The AutoStore system offers exactly the flexibility and reliability required for Arvato's growth in the UK market," adds Tim Godejohann, Project Lead Logistics Engineering at Arvato. Managing Director Dennis Schmitz of Arvato UK: "The expansion of the AutoStore system underlines the strong momentum we are experiencing in the UK market and our ambition to continue on this growth path."
