"VanAssist": the delivery vehicle of the future?
The number of parcels transported in Germany each year is expected to rise to around 5.7 billion by 2025. This is why parcel delivery companies such as dpd are actively working on sustainable delivery concepts. As part of the VanAssist cooperation project, an autonomous electric delivery vehicle has been developed. Tests with the VanAssist vehicle in daily road traffic are already planned.

Ground-breaking ceremony for green DPD depot near Memmingen
DPD and Alois Müller Holding GmbH & Co. KG celebrated the start of construction of a "green" depot in Holzgünz near Memmingen in the Unterallgäu region with a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony yesterday, Tuesday. The parcel sorting center is scheduled to go into operation in February 2021. It will replace the previous location in Kempten and will also take over its delivery area when operations begin.
