Digital parcel tracking: DPD launches project with WEB.de and GMX
Aschaffenburg, 07.08.2018 - The two online communication services Web.de and GMX have launched the "intelligent mailbox" project with integrated parcel tracking in cooperation with DPD. The aim is to make online shopping clearer and more convenient. The service is based on an algorithm that automatically recognizes order-related emails and groups them in a new overview folder called "my orders".
The emails are sorted by order and supplemented with tracking information. In addition, the parcel status and the estimated delivery time window of GMX and WEB.DE are retrieved automatically and in real time in DPD's IT system. The "Intelligent Mailbox" project was launched on July 31, and one million users of the online services were invited to test the new service. Once the test phase has been successfully completed, the mail providers plan to launch the service for all their 33 million customers in the near future. mm
