Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles delivered 3.5 percent fewer vehicles in 2015

Hanover, 14.01.16 - Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles delivered 430,800 light commercial vehicles to customers worldwide in the 2015 financial year (2014: 446,600; -3.5 percent). With 171,100 vans, Multivan, Caravelle and California delivered following the model change, the T-series recorded growth of 1.4 percent (2014: 168,700). The Crafter series increased by 2.5 percent with 50,400 deliveries (2014: 49,200). "Due to the diesel issue" (as the manufacturer puts it), deliveries of the Caddy model fell by 10.8 percent to 132,900 vehicles (2014: 148,900). Deliveries of the Amarok fell to 76,500 units (2014: 78,100; -2.1 percent), mainly due to the volatile environment in South America, particularly the weak economy in Brazil.

From a regional perspective, deliveries in Western Europe fell by 2.5% to 284,600 vehicles last year (2014: 292,000). In Germany, 111,100 vehicles were delivered between January and December, 7.5 percent fewer than in the previous year (2014: 120,100). In the Spanish market, the brand grew by 17.6% to 10,500 deliveries (2014: 8,900) and in the UK by 4.7% to 47,300 vehicles (2014: 45,200).

In Eastern Europe, the brand recorded a 17.3% decline in deliveries to 31,200 vehicles (2014: 37,700). In contrast, deliveries in the Middle East rose by 26.7% to 34,700 units (2014: 27,400). In the booming Turkish market in particular, 31,700 light commercial vehicles were sold, 31.8% more than in the previous year (2014: 24,000).

In South America, the number of vehicles delivered by the brand fell by 7.5% to 34,100 units (2014: 36,900). In Brazil, the largest single market, 10,800 units were delivered (2014: 16,900; -35.9%). At the same time, deliveries in the Argentinian market increased by 19.0% to 18,500 vehicles (2014: 15,500) thanks to a country-specific boom and market share gains. red
