Utility vehicles: Michelin man for truck roofs is back

Munich, 28.08.2017 - The Michelin Man is returning to the cab roof. The tire manufacturer has now launched a new edition of the popular brand symbol. The new Michelin Man is around 40 centimetres tall and specially designed for installation on the driver's cab. The new edition has everything it takes to become a coveted collector's item - just like its predecessors. Each copy is provided with a hologram with a consecutive serial number and the buyer also receives a certificate of authenticity.

Michelin Man:Since 1898, the Michelin Man, also known as "Bibendum", hasstoodfor the MICHELIN tire brand. The globally renowned brand icon has always conveyed the company's image beyond the tire industry and has received numerous awards in the past. In 2000, for example, a jury from the renowned Financial Times newspaper voted it the "Best Brand of the Century". In 2007, Advertising Age and Century Icons ranked the tire man among the ten best-known advertising symbols worldwide. A 2008 study by TNS Sofres, Paris, came to the conclusion that 90 percent of the world's population is familiar with the Michelin ambassador.

For trucks and other vehicles, the Michelin Man has been available for vehicle exteriors since the 1950s and has already gone through several stages of evolution. The first generation wore a yellow sash and had the feet parallel to each other. The second from 1966, also with a yellow sash, had its feet dangling comfortably crossed. The third generation from 2003 was given a new blue sash and more modern proportions.
