Dirks Group Expands Logistics and Industrial Space in Emden
Starting in September, the Dirks Group will expand its site for logistics and industrial projects at the seaport of Emden. The company will have a total of 90,000 square meters of industrial-standard warehouse space there in the future.
The contract logistics provider will begin developing a contiguous logistics and industrial complex in Emden in September. The focus will be on solutions for the consumer goods industry and retail, production and supply, as well as maintenance.
The logistics and industrial park features a freight rail terminal with a direct connection to the DB rail network and is located in close proximity to the seaport, the A31 highway, and Aviation Park North Sea (EDWE Airport). Additional space for future growth is available on the 100-hectare site. The neighboring Volkswagen plant will continue to be supplied from the northeastern section of the park.
The expansion of the site was made possible by an agreement with the city of Emden: DIirks will take over the vacated areas in order to develop them in a targeted manner and put them to new logistical and industrial uses.
