20,000-square-meter logistics property
intaurus celebrates topping-out ceremony for Leipzig coreport
Large parts of the shell of the new property in Leipzig are complete: Investor intaurus took this as an opportunity to celebrate the topping-out ceremony with everyone involved. "We are ahead of schedule with our construction project and would like to use this celebration to thank our general contractor Goldbeck and all the craftsmen involved in the construction for their excellent and professional work," says Guido Breuer, Managing Director of intaurus. The numerous guests also included representatives from thyssenkrupp, the future anchor tenant of the new building. The topping-out speech was read out by Mathias Knorre, Goldbeck Nord.
Up to 30 trades on site at the same time
The construction of the coreport logistics facility with its 20,000 square meters demanded top performance from the trades. Over 10,000 cubic meters of topsoil had to be removed and transported away. Even more earth movement, namely over 12,000 cubic meters, was required to profile the site for the huge floor slab. Up to 30 trades have to coordinate with each other in order to move the construction forward together. In future, 160 columns will support the roof with a proud area of 20,000 square meters, not including the canopies. In addition, 350 tons of steel have already been installed.
Over 200 workstations in the new coreport
The impressive building is scheduled to open in mid-2019. There will be over 200 workstations in the new logistics building. "There is not much space left to rent in our new building," says Guido Breuer. "But a smaller area of 5,000 square meters is still available. Anyone who needs more capacity is very welcome in our existing building next door." The transport links to the space in the Leipzig North industrial estate are very good. The Leipzig-Messegelände freeway junction on the A14 is one kilometer away, and the airport is 19 kilometers away.
