CTP acquired the 335,000 square meter site from French multinational manufacturing company Vallourec at the end of 2023. The developer is transforming the site, which formerly housed an industrial rolling mill, into a modern business park. This will offer more than 160,000 square meters for research and development, laboratories, co-working as well as industrial and logistics space for companies in technology-oriented sectors such as life sciences and IT manufacturing.

Westenergie's new property will comprise around 12,000 square meters of rental space, which the company has leased on a long-term basis. Two metering business units from Essen-Kettwig and Mülheim will be relocated to the new building. The new location also includes modern workstations, a logistics center for metering technology and a state-approved testing center for metering devices.

Bernd Böddeling, Senior Vice President Energy Networks Germany at E.ON and CEO of Westenergie AG, explains: "With the new building in Mülheim, we are creating the conditions for further growth in a dynamic region where the outstanding location and connections speak for themselves."

CTP is also aiming for DGNB Gold certification for CTPark Mülheim. There are also plans to install a photovoltaic system to ensure a fossil-free energy supply. The project is scheduled for completion in the 3rd quarter of 2027. The real estate company Brockhoff & Partner and the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr are among those involved in the development of the project.
