Large load carriers for sea transport
More than 95 percent of intercontinental goods traffic is handled by shipping. In addition to workpiece carriers and containers, Söhner Kunststofftechnik will also be presenting newly developed large load carriers for intercontinental sea transport at FachPack in Nuremberg.
The load carriers are specially designed for transportation with sea freight containers and adapted to the internal container dimensions. The product series comprises six dimensions. Depending on the height of the containers, they can be stacked 2, 3 or 4 high in the container. In this way, volume utilization rates of up to 90 percent can be achieved. In order to withstand the mechanical and climatic stresses at sea, the large load carriers have a double-walled plastic folding ring with wooden reinforcement profiles. Overall, payloads of up to 750 kg and superimposed loads of up to 2,000 kg are possible with this GLT series for sea transportation.
