bott: avero assembly line at Data Modul

Data Modul recently commissioned a new avero assembly line from bott in ESD design at its production site in Weikersheim. bott configured the workstations according to ergonomic aspects. With the new avero assembly line, Data Modul is meeting its high demands for maximum flexibility and the quality of its products. In this assembly process, Data Modul manufactures panel PCs and monitors with touches, from 22 to 26 inches in size, along the material. The modular avero tables are electrically height-adjustable and can therefore be adapted to the ergonomics of the employees. Assembly itself is carried out using the one-piece flow method: The employee does not have to lift or carry the devices to be assembled. They can be rolled through the entire line on a workpiece carrier.

Data Modul integrated a so-called flow box of cleanroom class 5 into the avero assembly line, which enables the particle-free connection of the touch surface and display module - Data Modul's specialty, so-called airgap bonding. Data Modul installed digital, electronically controlled assembly instructions at each individual avero assembly station itself. To reduce search times for parts, bottBoxes and trays were arranged in the same order as the work sequence. The avero assembly line can be used flexibly, converted if necessary and used for several series. The avero assembly line eliminates time-consuming walking distances. It also reduces gripping distances. The newly installed avero lines from bott are primarily used for the production of large quantities. They offer flexibility in terms of throughput time, as up to five employees can be deployed for assembly as required.

Goal: Relieving the burden on employees

As a result, with this flexible assembly line, Data Modul creates an optimum assembly process via coordinated work preparation at the start of series production, thus reducing the workload on employees. Duplicate routes have been shortened or completely eliminated. Reduced assembly and throughput times can thus be realized, the error rate can be reduced to a minimum through clear workplace design and quality can be sustainably assured.

Lean workplaces from bott

bott plans the avero workstation system individually for its customers. The smooth, logically thought-out material flow is particularly important to the bott consultants. This means: no intermediate storage of material or assemblies and seamless material provision.

"As part of continuous improvement processes, the avero workstation system helps to ensure that manual production can always be flexibly adapted. The modular system of the avero workstation system facilitates standardization in operation."

The avero workstation system can be adapted to requirements and thus supports structured work processes. Unnecessary or duplicate work steps in the pre-assembly of components can be avoided. This allows you to concentrate on the essential activities. The material for different variants of a product is available at the workstation, so that individualization of the products can be implemented reliably.
