Booxit, Polytec and Haidlmair
Cooperation agreed for the logistics circular economy
Booxit aims to make logistics processes more efficient and sustainable with intelligently networked reusable boxes. The start-up is receiving support from plastics specialists Haidlmair and Polytec.
The Upper Austrian start-up Booxit is working on the digitalization and sustainability of logistics processes. The company has developed a fully automatable and digitalized transport box. Thanks to their networking, stackability and high load capacity, the boxes offer a versatile solution for making modern supply chains more efficient.
The concept quickly attracted attention in the plastics industry. In order to implement its plans for series production and internationalization, Booxit has entered into a partnership with plastics specialists Haidlmair and Polytec. The collaboration was agreed at K 2025 in Düsseldorf. All three partners are based in the Upper Austrian economic region.
Polytec, known for high-quality plastic solutions in the automotive industry, is contributing its industrialization and manufacturing expertise to the project. "Booxit's product impresses with its sophisticated functionality and impressive focus on the needs of cross-industry customers. We consider its potential to be extremely promising," explains Markus Huemer, CEO of Polytec Holding. "We look forward to contributing our industrialization and manufacturing expertise to this collaboration."
In fact, Polytec is already one of the manufacturers of reusable logistics boxes, particularly in the area of food logistics. Over 100 million such boxes have been produced to date.
Haidlmair also sees the project as an exciting technical challenge. The toolmaker is a global specialist for high-performance injection molds and is contributing its expertise as a tool supplier for the Booxit boxes. "We are looking forward to the challenge of this project, as it is a highly complex product where we can contribute our expertise and strengths in the best possible way," says Mario Haidlmair, CEO of Haidlmair. "We are convinced that Booxit has great potential and that together we will deliver a first-class product."
For Booxit founder Peter Entenfellner, the collaboration is an important milestone: "Our Booxit technology places the highest demands on plastics technology and we are delighted to have gained Haidlmair and Polytec as partners for industrialization, two leading global technology companies that also have the capacity to implement international expansion together."
The project is still in the development phase, so specific production volumes are not being mentioned. However, the three companies are convinced that sustainable reusable systems are a crucial building block for future-proof logistics structures and offer considerable market potential.
