Gebhardt focuses on internationalization

The Gebhardt Intralogistics Group sees a strong international presence as a driver for further growth. In recent years, the Sinsheim-based company has positioned itself as a globally active partner for intralogistics solutions and would like to expand this further.

Thanks to the branches and strong sales partners, Gebhardt also considers itself to be well positioned in terms of customer proximity. "Our headquarters are and will remain in Sinsheim. With the opening of the new industrial park in Sinsheim-Dühren in late summer this year, we are once again making a clear commitment to the region," says Managing Director Marco Gebhardt. "At the same time, we want to be close to our customers and their needs and generate further growth in other European countries and beyond." For this reason, the company has greatly expanded its international sales activities in recent years and now has locations in the UK, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and the USA to ensure proximity.

Great Britain

With the partnership with European Conveyor Systems LTD (ECS), Gebhardt took the step towards internationalization as early as 1992. This was followed in 2013 by the acquisition of 100% of the company under the name Gebhardt ESC. "The last few years have been characterized by strong growth," says Terry Pullen, Managing Director of Gebhardt European Conveyor Systems Limited since 2016. "In addition to an increase in the number of employees, we are particularly proud of the two new production facilities in Nottingham and the expansion of the portfolio, which also allows us to offer large AS/RS projects." Terry Pullen and his team have big plans for the coming years. "We are clearly pursuing a growth strategy in which we are relying on our high quality and innovative strength."

Austria

Günther Napetschnig can confidently be described as an "old hand" at the company. With a brief interruption, he has been working for Gebhardt since 1990 and, since taking over as branch manager, has been driving the site in Götzis forward, particularly in the areas of storage and retrieval machines, vertical conveyors and transfer cars.

Poland

With Tomasz Boruta, Gebhardt is relying on a sales and project manager with industry experience for its business in Poland. Following initial projects, such as for Rhenus in Goleniow, a further project is in the starting blocks with the conveying and sorting solution for The Hut Group, and Tomasz Boruta's team is also responsible for the service of all Polish Gebhardt projects.

Switzerland

Kim Fabian Schneider is Managing Director for the Swiss market and neighboring countries. With 13 years of specialist and industry experience, he effectively strengthens the location and supports customers in all matters relating to innovative warehouse logistics solutions. "With the broad Gebhardt product portfolio, I want to sustainably optimize our customers' internal material flows and increase their process reliability and efficiency," says Kim Schneider.

Denmark and Sweden

Gebhardt sees the establishment of the branches in northern Europe in 2018 as an important entrepreneurial step in order to be able to optimally serve the Scandinavian economic area. "With Gebhardt Nordic ApS in Denmark and Gebhardt Nordic AB in Sweden, we guarantee local support, after-sales service and the acquisition of new customers," says Marco Gebhardt, summarizing the company's commitment in the north.

Arne Balling, mechanical engineer and branch manager of Gebhardt Nordic ApS in Hobro, is driving forward sales activities in Denmark together with his team. Initial successes include the project at Dansk Retursystem A/S in Taastrup and a miniload system for Danfoss. With more than 20 years of experience in logistics, Arne Balling and his team are ideally placed to strengthen the Danish branch and generate growth.

Arne Balling will be supported by Sebastian Lundh, Sales and Branch Manager at Gebhardt Nordic AB for Sweden, Finland and Norway. His main task is to market and establish Gebhardt's conveyor and storage technology systems as core products for intelligent intralogistics. Sebastian Lundh can look back on his first 1.5 years, and not just thanks to the project at Clas Ohlson AB. Since his start in March 2019, Gebhardt has established itself on the Swedish market and the branch had to be adapted to the growing tasks in terms of space and personnel.

USA

Jim Kappele was appointed Managing Director of Gebhardt USA Inc. in Brunswick in 2000. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a project manager handling European customer projects in the USA. In addition, he was primarily involved in the development and expansion of domestic customer relationships. Thanks to the close cooperation with Gebhardt in Germany, Jim Kappele was soon able to celebrate his first project successes with American customers. "The last few years have been characterized by strong growth, both in terms of sales and personnel," says Jim Kappele. "While I started alone in 2000, we now have a workforce of 25 employees and want to continue to expand in terms of personnel and space in the future."
