Volvo Trucks presents electric trucks and future projects at the IAA Commercial Vehicles
Hanover, 19.07.2018 - Alternative drive systems and automated driving are topics that Volvo Trucks will be focusing on at this year's IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover. The company will be presenting its latest developments in alternative drive systems, including the Volvo FE Electric model. The all-electric truck is a waste disposal vehicle whose body was developed together with Faun, Europe's leading body manufacturer for waste disposal vehicles.

"Electric mobility is fully in line with our long-term commitment to sustainable urban development and zero emissions," says Volvo Trucks President Claes Nilsson.
Volvo Trucks plans to start selling electrically powered trucks in Europe in 2019. E-trucks are quieter and cleaner and open up new possibilities in logistics. Volvo Trucks will also be exhibiting its Volvo FH LNG model at the trade fair. TheCO2 emissions of the LNG-powered model are 20 to 100 percent lower than those of a diesel vehicle, depending on the fuel. The new Volvo FH LNG and Volvo FM LNG models are available with 420 or 460 hp for heavy regional and long-distance transport.
Volvo Trucks will also be presenting its future-oriented automated driving project to the public for the first time at the IAA. The Volvo Connect customer portal will also be presented for the first time. This year, Volvo Trucks is also celebrating the market launch of the Volvo FH a quarter of a century ago in 1993 and has designed the Volvo FH 25 Year Edition, an anniversary edition with special features, to mark the occasion. mm
