Workshop app
Find the right spare parts more easily with a QR code
The BPW Aftermarket Group now offers commercial vehicle workshops a mobile web app for the quick and manufacturer-independent identification and ordering of spare parts.
First the QR code on the vehicle is scanned, then the required spare parts are simply selected.
The upLink app can be used on a smartphone or tablet. It can be used to disclose the spare parts data of a truck or trailer. upLink consists of a simple sticker with a QR code, which is attached to tractors and trailers by the workshop and thus enables access to the vehicle-specific spare parts. Once the QR code has been scanned, the web store's vehicle file immediately displays spare parts favorites, order histories including prices, delivery times and possible alternative parts - specific to that vehicle. Orders can also be placed via the web app.
Ralf Maurer, Managing Director of BPW Aftermarket Group Germany, explains: "The smartphone is becoming an important tool in every commercial vehicle workshop: The QR code and the mobile web app speed up and improve the identification and ordering of spare parts and reduce the risk of input errors. The mechanics can concentrate fully on the service without wasting their time on laborious spare part identification." Information on important trailer wear parts can also be called up. Workshops can add this information individually and continuously expand the vehicle file according to the Wikipedia principle.
