The award recognizes companies that have proven to be particularly strong in terms of growth and have been able to increase their number of employees and turnover above average over the last five years. This includes companies whose performance, commitment and creativity make medium-sized companies an important part of Bavaria's economic strength. Humbaur has proven to be particularly strong in terms of growth. The number of employees and turnover have increased at an above-average rate over the last five years.

The company got its start in 1957. At that time, Anton Humbaur founded a dealership for agricultural machinery in Donauwörth. 23 years later, the family business moved to Gersthofen. Just one year later, the first car trailer was sold. At that time, the trailers were imported from Italy and adapted to the German market. But Humbaur wanted more. The company was not only to be an importer, but a pioneer. Therefore, in 1984, after Ulrich Humbaur, the current managing partner, joined the company in 1982, it began producing its own trailers. Today, the trailer and box body specialist manufactures around 1,300 trailers per week on an area of over 170,000 square meters. This means that the employees put around 60,000 trailers on the road every year.

Today, the company has around 420 different standard trailer models and 230 models of its FlexBox vehicle bodies. From car trailers to box and horse trailers, from tipper trailers to real heavy-duty and low-loader giants. Humbaur also specializes in custom-made products according to customer requirements.
