SAF-Holland acquires specialist for digital trailer management
Bessenbach, August 6, 2018 - With the acquisition of Axscend, SAF-Holland is strengthening its digital expertise and expanding its know-how in the areas of software and programming. The commercial vehicle supplier has acquired a majority stake in the British company.
Axscend combines engineering, sensor technology and electronics expertise with software programming, and its solutions are aimed at simultaneously managing trailers digitally.
"For us, this technology acquisition is fully in line with our innovation campaign, with which we are making our axles smart and helping to digitalize the trailer. We are increasingly integrating our mechanical components with sensors and electronics and working on topics such as automatic coupling of tractor and trailer as well as preventive maintenance," explained SAF-Holland CEO Detlef Borghardt.
