Court prohibits imitation of the SpeedMan Classic from Sprick
The "SpeedMan Classic" is a paper filling system for the reliable protection of shipping goods with environmentally friendly recycled paper. The system was developed by the manufacturer Sprick from Bielefeld. Sprick had the product and the brand protected throughout the EU a few years ago. A German competitor of the company has now been prohibited from imitating the SpeedMan Classic by a court of first instance. At the same time, the competent chamber of the Düsseldorf Regional Court strengthened the position of the original manufacturer Sprick and dismissed the competitor's counterclaim for a declaration of nullity of the property right. The competitor had refused to issue a cease-and-desist declaration, forcing Sprick to take legal action. "We are extremely pleased that we have received judicial confirmation of our position and that it is now clear that our development may not be copied," says Oliver Schmidt, the sales manager responsible for Sprick's filling and upholstery systems. "Not least in the interests of our customers and sales partners, we will continue to actively defend our intellectual property in future and take legal action against copycat products," he announced in Bielefeld. Sprick specializes in filling and padding systems based on recycled paper.
