Expansion and investment
PPWR spurs market expansion of Orbis Europe
The manufacturer of reusable plastic packaging Orbis is expanding its market presence, investing in new products and seeing increasing demand for durable packaging solutions as a result of the PPWR.
Orbis Europe has successfully completed the 2025 financial year and strengthened its market position in Europe. "With the PPWR, there is an even greater focus on the durability and sustainability of packaging. This confirms our strategic direction," says Jürgen Krahé, Senior Commercial Director EMEA at Orbis Europe. Among other things, investments were made in new product developments with optimized material composition.
Stronger presence in Italy, Scandinavia and Poland
As part of the local-to-local strategy, the presence in countries such as Italy, Scandinavia and Poland has been expanded. Following the market entry in Italy, further Eastern European countries are set to follow in 2026. "We will continue to focus on regional contacts and market-specific expertise in the future," says Krahé. "This will enable us to understand customer requirements more quickly, support projects more precisely and take regional market conditions into account in a targeted manner." Orbis is also stepping up its trade fair activities, including at Cosmopack, Warsaw Pack and Elmia Subcontractor.
Safety and quality requirements fulfilled
In 2025, the company met high technical safety and quality requirements, for example through hazardous goods solutions, the renewed UN certification of the Ypres site and customer-specific special designs. ORBIS expects demand to increase in 2026, particularly from regulated industries. Krahé emphasizes: "Our customers are consciously opting for high-quality reusable packaging. The initial costs are usually higher. However, the solutions are durable, reduce replacement purchases and thus ensure a higher return on investment."
