Intaurus realizes logistics property for Mytheresa

In an off-market transaction, the Intaurus Group - a developer and manager of industrial, logistics and commercial real estate - has secured a 105,700 square meter site at Leipzig/Halle Airport, which is directly adjacent to the airport's security area next to the runway. In early 2022, Intaurus will construct a new logistics building with around 55,000 square meters of floor space for Mytheresa, a platform for luxury fashion.

Construction of the five-unit greenfield property is scheduled to start in spring 2022 and is due for completion in 2023. The logistics property, which is suitable for third-party use, offers the user around 48,400 square meters of logistics, warehouse and mezzanine space as well as around 6,000 square meters of high-quality office and social space and facilities for e-mobility.

Intaurus is aiming for DGNB Gold certification for the construction of the new building and is focusing on standards for Well Being, i.e. a harmonious and health-promoting working environment including a canteen, underfloor heating in all hall and office areas, a spacious roof terrace and designed seating areas in the outdoor areas. The first 500 or so employees will start work at the site from mid-2023. In total, more than 1,000 jobs are to be created at the site by 2030.

"The new prime real estate project at Leipzig Airport is the largest single development in our company's history to date," comments Hans-Wolfgang Niedermair, founder and shareholder of the Intaurus Group.

"Intaurus and Mytheresa already worked together successfully in 2012," reports Oliver Raigel, Managing Director of the Intaurus Group. "In order to support Mytheresa's growth, we scouted and prepared the best locations throughout Germany in addition to the home market of Munich. One of Mytheresa's key requirements was proximity to an internationally operating cargo airport. The site directly at Leipzig Airport was therefore the most obvious choice," continues Oliver Raigel. "We conducted very constructive negotiations with Flughafen Leipzig/Halle GmbH.
