Schmalz: Safe handling of delicate workpieces
The transportation of goods with sensitive surfaces literally requires a delicate touch. J. Schmalz GmbH has developed a special coating for its FXP/FMP vacuum area gripping systems. This allows even very thin glass to be gripped gently. The gripping system can also be used in clean room applications thanks to the protective cover made of special fabric. The combination of surface gripper and protective cover has also proven its worth in the manufacture of glass in the building and automotive sectors. The foam base of the gripper with small vacuum chambers distributes the required suction force evenly over the part to be lifted. With a surface gripper with foam, the plastic does not "rub" over the workpiece during the suction process and therefore cannot cause abrasion.
