Picking workstation
TGW honored with the Ergonomics Innovation Award
The Ergonomics Innovation Award was presented for the first time this year by the "IGR Institut für Gesundheit und Ergonomie e.V.". The TGW PickCenter One Curve was one of the winners.
The order picking workstation meets the requirements for ergonomic design and user-friendliness: completely in line with the philosophy "People at the center - learn and grow". This is how the intralogistics specialist TGW convinced the renowned jury of experts.
The PickCenter One is a high-performance picking workstation that is already in use in numerous logistics centers worldwide. In spring 2019, TGW presented a new version: the PickCenter One Curve. For the first time, it can be used to pick cartons and totes with a maximum dimension of 700x500 mm. A special feature is the asymmetrical curve design, to which the model owes its name.
The TGW development team placed particular emphasis on ergonomics right from the planning stage. Operators can stand closer to the load carriers and reach the contents with very little body rotation. With the optional tilting mechanism, the cartons and containers can also be tilted by 20 degrees. This improves visibility and the order picker does not have to lean forward as far. The gripping space can be further optimized by height-adjustable platforms.
"The TGW Logistics Group has long attracted our attention when it comes to ergonomic solutions in intralogistics. The innovation award is well deserved in every respect," confirmed Christian Brunner, First Chairman of the IGR, at the presentation of the award at the TGW headquarters in Marchtrenk.
"The PickCenter One Curve can be used by people of different heights in a relaxed posture. This prevents incorrect strain," confirm Günther Radwallner and Thomas Hüttner, who are responsible for the product line at TGW. "The first examples of the PickCenter One Curve have already been installed at a German customer and will soon go into operation."
