Self-charging hearing protection headset
Occupational safety combined with environmental protection
The 3M Peltor WS Alert XPV headset, which is now available on the Conrad Sourcing Platform, offers hearing protection, enables clear communication without background noise even in noisy environments and eliminates the need for disposable batteries.
"This technology is a real breakthrough," explains Peter Berghamn, Global Portfolio Director 3M Peltor. The company is introducing a headset that combines performance, design, protection and sustainability. The patented Powerfoyle solar cell technology is described as a breakthrough in sustainable energy generation: Not only sunlight, but also artificial lighting is converted into clean energy to charge the integrated lithium-ion battery and make the headset ready for use at any time. The world's first self-charging hearing protection headset is made partly from recycled plastic. It is repairable thanks to available spare parts. Over-the-air firmware updates contribute to a longer product life.
Even at high noise levels, the workplace becomes a pleasantly quiet office with the headset from 3M, which can be connected to up to two external devices using Bluetooth multipoint technology: thanks to the noise-canceling microphone, users can communicate clearly and distinctly hands-free even in noisy environments. On top of this, the new headset is equipped with microphones that capture ambient noise (ambient listening). Calling up different modes - from very loud environments to low noise levels - enables optimum adaptation to the respective situation. The PTL (Push-to-Listen) function allows the user to listen to the surroundings at the touch of a button without removing the headset. This interrupts the Bluetooth streaming and activates the ambient microphones so that people and noises in the vicinity can be heard.
Concentrated and protected at work
The headset has been equipped with extra-large buttons to enable operation with gloves. There are large buttons next to the on/off switch for adjusting the volume. In addition, a multifunction button allows you to call up various predefined functions in the 3M Connected Equipment app. They can be configured via phone or tablet on a user-friendly interface. The app can also be used to call up information about the battery charge status and select streaming profiles.
