The eActros is the tenth vehicle to complete the so-called "innovation fleet" of Mercedes-Benz Trucks for testing electric trucks in practical use at various customers. The aim is to realize clean and quiet distribution transport in urban areas with heavy series trucks as well. The official handover of the eActros took place at the Nagel-Group branch in Hans-Duncker-Straße in the south-east of Hamburg. Carsten Taucke, CEO of Nagel-Group: "As a leading family business in food logistics, we welcome solutions that are ecologically and economically sustainable. The eActros offers a promising approach to reducing emissions while meeting the extremely high requirements for temperature-controlled transportation."

200 kilometer range
The 18-tonne truck has a range of up to 200 kilometers and delivers chilled food to various customers in Hamburg city center. As a fully electric and therefore locally emission-free truck, the eActros can also easily drive on restricted routes with diesel driving bans.

Innovation fleet: tested in various industries
As part of the practical testing of the eActros "innovation fleet", 20 customers from various sectors are using the near-series 18- or 25-tonne truck in everyday operations. The tests are divided into two phases, each with ten customers. The knowledge gained will be used for the further development of the eActros towards series production.
