Electric trucks in practical use
Mercedes-Benz eActros proves its worth at Logistik Schmitt
The eActros is proving its worth in all-electric delivery transport at Logistik Schmitt: the 25-tonne truck is used for shuttle services between the Logistik Schmitt warehouse in Ötigheim and the Rastatt section of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Gaggenau.
The eActros covers a daily distance of around 168 kilometers in three-shift operation. Rainer Schmitt, Managing Partner of Logistik Schmitt: "As a forward-looking logistics company, we are doing our bit to make our industry environmentally friendly. With the Mercedes-Benz eActros, we are already on the road quietly and with zero local emissions. At the same time, we are absolutely flexible and mobile. Practical use shows: The eActros is ideal for commuter traffic. It is reliable, always ready for use and its range safely covers the daily workload."
As part of the multi-year practical test of the electric truck in the region, comparison runs with the eWayBW overhead line project in the Murg Valley and surrounding area are also planned. The official handover of the eActros to Logistik Schmitt took place at the beginning of the year as part of Daimler Trucks' annual press conference in Gaggenau.
