IAA Commercial Vehicles: More payload thanks to intelligent lightweight design

Burtenbach, 02.08.18 - Kögel is expanding its container chassis portfolio with a lightweight semi-trailer container chassis with center extension. The new Kögel Port 45 Triplex will be on display at the IAA Commercial Vehicles. It is currently one of the lightest container chassis on the market. The low tare weight in the basic configuration of around 4,800 kilograms with a total technical weight of 41,000 kilograms enables a payload of over 36,200 kilograms. Weight-saving individual equipment such as wheel rims and compressed air tanks made of aluminum can reduce the tare weight even further.

Flexible use
With the frame retracted, the Port 45 Triplex is suitable for transporting a 20-foot ISO container positioned flush with the rear as standard. With the rear and middle extensions extended, two 20-foot ISO containers or one 30-foot ISO container or one 40-foot high-cube container or one 45-foot high-cube container with short tunnel fit on it. If all three extensions are extended, 45-foot high-cube Eurocorner containers can also be transported.

At the IAA Nuztfahrzeuge, options for accommodating a 40- and 45-foot ISO container as well as a 13.6-meter-long swap body flush with the rear and a heavy-duty 20-foot ISO container will be presented using an exhibit. mm
