For the first and last mile
Humbaur presents FlexBike cargo bike
Humbaur claims to have found the ideal transport solution for the first and last mile in city centers: the Humbaur FlexBike. It is based on the BRING heavy-duty bicycle from BAYK AG, supplemented by a Humbaur FlexBox Dry vehicle body in lightweight GRP construction. As a pedelec, the FlexBike can be ridden wherever bicycles are allowed - without a driver's license or insurance plates.
The Humbaur FlexBike is the result of a cooperation between the Gersthofen-based specialist for trailers and vehicle bodies and BAYK AG, which specializes in bicycle-based mobility solutions such as the Velotaxi used worldwide. The FlexBike is based on the BAYK BRING cargo bike, which is supplemented by a FlexBox Dry in lightweight GRP construction. It has space for 1.4m3 of cargo, with enough floor space for a Euro pallet. A payload of 260 kg is possible. Thanks to the single-wing rear door, the transported goods can be loaded and unloaded. The optional roller shutter door on the right-hand side of the box body is practical for everyday deliveries.
Cyclists are supported by a TQ mid-mounted motor with PinRim gearbox and a maximum torque of 120 Nm; a starting aid up to 6 km/h is also integrated. A Husquarna differential gear on the rear wheel axle, a hydraulic disc brake from Brembo and an LED lighting system with brake light function ensure safety when riding.
The Humbaur FlexBike is approved as a pedelec25 (EPAC standard in the EU) and certified by DEKRA. The 48 V Li-Ion battery has a capacity of 2,000 Wh (with integrated battery management system). The battery can be fully charged in 4 hours and the associated charger delivers 8 A charging current.
