Hellmann and bayernhafen expand service offering

In a joint declaration, bayernhafen and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics have sealed an expansion of their cooperation: From September, Hellmann will be the first logistics service provider to expand continental traffic between Lower Saxony and Regensburg by using craneable mega semi-trailers.

With a new Hellmann intermodal train, bayernhafen is now offering a full range of combined transport services on all routes throughout Germany. To make the new CT connection possible, bayernhafen is adapting tracks and storage areas previously used for other purposes to the needs of the new intermodal service at short notice.

A gate for recording loading capacities will also be newly installed. "We see ourselves as site architects at our six bayernhafen locations in Aschaffenburg, Bamberg, Nuremberg, Roth, Regensburg and Passau," says bayernhafen Managing Director Joachim Zimmermann. "We therefore contribute our own planning, construction and operating expertise in order to create the required infrastructure quickly and flexibly." bayernhafen handles the handling on site itself.

Transports in Regensburg can be transferred directly to the road

With the new CT connection, Hellmann is now offering its customers the opportunity to load shipments directly from road to rail in the Regensburg area. We are delighted to be working with our partner bayernhafen to drive forward the further development of our logistics solutions and networks. This means that we now also have the infrastructure in the Regensburg area that we need for sustainable and, above all, seamless combined transport solutions," explains Matthias Magnor, COO Road and Rail, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
