Hellmann wants to expand its e-commerce offering internationally and has appointed Jan Bierewirtz as Head of Sales E-Commerce. In this role, he will be responsible for the market launch and positioning of the new cross-border product "near" from February.

Bierewirtz has more than ten years of experience in international e-commerce and has played a key role in the development and marketing of modern cross-border shipping solutions.

"Near" for cross-border online trade

The "near" product is the result of the partnership between Hellmann and SkyNet announced in fall 2025. It offers an end-to-end solution for cross-border online retail: from warehousing and fulfillment to B2C delivery and returns management. The solution is aimed in particular at companies from the fashion and consumer goods sectors as well as D2C brands, omnichannel retailers and online marketplaces.

"With annual growth rates of around 20 percent, cross-border e-commerce is one of the most important growth drivers and opens up new opportunities to open up and develop both existing and new markets. Especially in times of geopolitical upheaval, new customs regulations and strongly fluctuating demand, cross-border is not just a question of reach for many manufacturing companies today, but a strategic element for increasing the flexibility of their supply chains," says Martin Habisreitinger, COO Airfreight, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics."
