Around 1,900 apprentices start at Daimler

This week, around 1,900 young people started their careers at more than 50 Daimler locations. The young people were able to choose from more than 30 apprenticeships and 15 dual study programs.

Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, visited the new apprentices at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Untertürkheim to mark the start of their training. "Together with our young colleagues, we are shaping the mobility of the future and continuing to write the history of the automobile. With passion, commitment and fresh ideas, we can achieve a lot together and make Mercedes-Benz even more sustainable," explained Källenius.

While the dual students don't start until October, the apprentices have already started. Carolyn Krauss started her apprenticeship as an automotive mechatronics technician for system and high-voltage technology in September: "I've always been interested in technology. I find it really exciting that I am now doing my apprenticeship here at Daimler and working with future technologies and on electric vehicles. I'm looking forward to getting started together with the other apprentices."

Daimler provides needs-oriented training and offers all trainees an employment contract upon completion. The Group employs around 8,000 apprentices worldwide, of which around 6,000 are in Germany.
