VLB welcomes FEM R+S presidency of Eugen Talmann
Eugen Talmann, Head of Steel Technology at Fritz Schäfer GmbH, Neunkirchen, has been appointed President of the European manufacturers' association FEM R+S for storage equipment with effect from October 1.
Olaf Heptner, Managing Director of the German Association for Warehouse Technology and Operating Equipment (VLB), Hagen, associates the German presidency of the European association with further networking of the member companies and intensified research work.
FEM R+S represents the interests of the relevant European manufacturers and industry organizations with numerous member companies. Talmann takes over from Jos de Vuyst (STOW) and will initially lead the industry segment on the European stage in this role for the next three years. "Eugen Talmann's presidency will promote the networking of the entire industry and further strengthen the activities of the VLB towards Europe," says Olaf Heptner, Managing Director of the German FEM R+S member organization Verband Lagertechnik Betriebseinrichtung (VLB), Hagen, welcoming the appointment of the proven industry expert
Until 2019, Talmann already served as Chairman of the European standardization group CEN / TC 344 (Steel Static Storage System) and in this role was significantly involved in the development of numerous standards for intralogistics systems.
"It would be hard to imagine a better candidate for the position of President of FEM R+S," summarizes VLB Managing Director Heptner. "Talmann is a proven expert who can optimally fill the position with the know-how he has acquired in a wide variety of functions over decades and who can provide new impetus. The VLB is very pleased with this decision and wishes the new president a lucky hand in the realization of the upcoming projects."
