RAL-RG 614 regulates the requirements for nine product groups. Comprehensive checklists are available for all subgroups. With the newly added points of maintenance and assembly, the quality association is expanding on the requirements of European standards, such as DIN EN 15635, and raising awareness for regular maintenance and inspections by experts such as the association-certified shelving inspectors.

"Updating the quality and test specifications to the latest standards is one of the most important aspects of the RAL revision," explains Olaf Heptner, Managing Director of the Quality Assurance Association for Storage and Operating Equipment, Hagen. "As the last revision was some time ago, a lot had to be revised for the new version."

The RAL-RG 614/1-9 quality marks awarded in accordance with the quality and testing regulations certify to purchasers of the labeled products that the manufacturer is professionally qualified, that the product is of consistent quality and that it is safe to use. Companies that carry the quality mark are also subject to ongoing monitoring of their production by a neutral inspection body. The RAL quality mark therefore stands for trust and guaranteed quality.

Together with the publication of the updated RAL-RG 614, the Quality Association's website www.ral-rg 614.de has also been redesigned. In addition to the updated RAL-RG 614, further information on RAL and an overview of the quality mark holders and their quality-assured products can be found there.
