On course for expansion

Knapp AG: Leoben site grows

Knapp Systemintegration GmbH - part of the internationally active Knapp Group based in Hart bei Graz - is launching a new construction project and investing in infrastructure again. By fall 2019, four floors of office space will be built above the existing company restaurant.

Continuous strong growth in orders and a permanent increase in the number of employees - the KNAPP group currently has 4,200 employees worldwide - enable and require investments in the expansion of the 38 KNAPP locations worldwide. There are currently 580 employees at the Leoben site, with 75 employees joining the team last year alone. In 2018, the company, which focuses on automated warehouse and software solutions for the food industry, recorded incoming orders of over 200 million euros. The outlook for the future is positive: the company aims to employ 1,000 people at the site by 2025 and continuously increase its turnover.

The necessary conditions for this expansion are being created in Leoben with ongoing infrastructural measures. In 2014, KNAPP Systemintegration expanded the site with a company restaurant and a hall. In the fall of 2016, the office space was expanded and the production areas were renovated. Since summer 2017, additional parking spaces have provided room for another 120 cars.

The expansion is now entering the next phase: the building in which the company restaurant is located is being extended by a further four floors. Over the next few months, modern, open meeting rooms and office workstations will be created there, offering 150 employees a modern working environment. The extension is characterized by an innovative design and resource-saving operation. The company is investing 3.9 million euros in the 2,000 m² extension.

Further investments are planned: Among other things, an adjacent plot of land is to be purchased to create opportunities for further growth. "Our goal is to continue the internationalization of KNAPP Systemintegration GmbH. We will create the necessary infrastructure and resources for this. KNAPP is thus making a clear commitment to the Leoben location," says Bernhard Rottenbücher proudly. Together with him, the two other managing directors Franz Leitner and Rudolf Hansl look positively into the future.
