Weserport was founded in 1995 as a joint venture between the Rhenus Group, Stute Verkehr and Stahlwerke Bremen. Today, the company is managed by Rhenus and ArcelorMittal Bremen. Weserport operates four terminals in Bremen's industrial ports on an operating area of over 330,000 square meters, which are equipped with a total of eight cranes and are also suitable for heavy loads of up to 100 tons per square meter. The industrial ports can be reached via the Lower and Outer Weser as well as by highway and rail. Ships with a draught of up to 10.50 meters can be handled at the quay, which is almost two kilometers long.

"In recent years, we have invested heavily in upgrading our port facilities, which has enabled us to develop into the port service provider with the highest throughput in the city ports of Bremen. In order to remain successful, we have to be very adaptable. At the moment, our main focus is on the digital connection of our customers and satellite-based control of our processes," reports Weserport Managing Director Heiner Delicat.

ArcelorMittal is not only a shareholder, but also Weserport's largest customer: "Weserport has been successfully handling the entire port logistics at the site for ArcelorMittal Bremen for 25 years. In an environment characterized by changes and challenges, we continue to count on the know-how and competitiveness of our service provider and wish them all the best on their anniversary," says Reiner Blaschek, CEO of ArcelorMittal Bremen.
