SSI Schaefer CEO Steffen Bersch takes over chairmanship
Steffen Bersch, CEO of the SSI Schaefer Group, has just been unanimously elected as the new chairman at the board meeting of the Conveyor Technology and Intralogistics Association.
He succeeds Gordon Riske, former CEO of KION Group AG. "Association work today is more flexible and digital than ever. This has significantly intensified cooperation between the trade association and its members. The digitalization of communication between intralogistics solutions and with other systems is also progressing. Very important activities are underway here in the trade association, which will continue to be a focus of the agenda in the future. I would like to thank Mr. Riske for setting the course for this," explained Steffen Bersch on his appointment.
Gordon Riske relinquished the chairmanship as part of his retirement from KION Group AG. "It has been an exciting and intensive time with great technical progress in our industry, accompanied by robust demand and challenging conditions. I hope that my successor's mandate will also be characterized by a successful, strong and innovative intralogistics industry," said Gordon Riske.
Steffen Bersch has been CEO of the SSI Schaefer Group since March 2020. He previously worked for GEA Group AG for many years, where he was responsible for various divisions, including as a member of the Executive Board.
