Harald Gloy becomes Chief Operating Officer at Lufthansa Cargo
Harald Gloy will take over the management of Lufthansa Cargo's Operations division as a member of the Executive Board from January 2019. He succeeds Sören Stark, who will become the new COO of Lufthansa Technik at the same time.
Gloy is currently responsible for Lufthansa Technik's global components business. In his position as Chief Operations Officer, he will be responsible for handling in Frankfurt, Munich and the Lufthansa Cargo Service Center, as well as for Global Handling Management, Flight Operations & Transport Management and Security. The industrial engineer started at Lufthansa Technik in 2003 in Corporate Development and from 2006 headed the "Aircraft Overhaul and Modification" production in Hamburg. After holding various management positions in the Component Maintenance Services and Engine Services divisions, he has been in charge of Lufthansa Technik's component business since 2014. "I am very pleased that with Harald Gloy we have been able to gain an experienced Lufthansa employee as Chief Operations Officer," said Harry Hohmeister, Lufthansa Group Executive Board member and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa Cargo. "With his extensive experience in logistics and the management of large operational areas, he will continue to lead the Operations division into the future and strengthen Lufthansa Cargo's role in the face of tough competition."
