Automated
Sustainable packaging systems at Lampenwelt
Lampenwelt GmbH, based in Schlitz, Hesse, uses a system from the CVP series from Sparck Technologies (formerly Packaging by Quadient) for the automated packaging of transport cartons in its warehouse.
Recently, technicians installed a new "CVP Impack" for Europe's largest online specialist for indoor and outdoor lighting, which can produce up to 500 custom-fit packages per hour. The company supplies products to more than four million customers in 17 countries.
"Our company's mission is: Enhance People's Wellbeing. We strive to fulfill our customers' wishes while constantly reducing the ecological footprint of our products, their packaging and logistics. That's why we decided to implement a highly efficient and innovative packaging system from Sparck Technologies," says Thomas Rebmann, founder and CEO of Lampenwelt GmbH.
"Over the years, we have developed very cost-saving and sustainable solutions. Customized cartons made from a CVP Impack can save up to 50 percent of the transport volume and up to 30 percent of the corrugated cardboard consumption. Filling material can usually be dispensed with completely. We are delighted to be able to support Lampenwelt GmbH, which has set itself ambitious targets for reducing its ecological footprint, on its growth path. With this lighthouse project, Lampenwelt is shining in the industry," emphasizes Richard Nijboer, Director Sales and Services at Sparck Technologies.
Lampenwelt offers its customers a range of more than 50,000 products from around 500 brands. In order to be prepared for future growth, Lampenwelt expanded its logistics center with 3,500 square meters of warehouse space by 6,000 square meters in 2017. At the time, the company founders decided to bring warehousing, packaging and shipping as well as returns processing in-house in order to be able to offer customer service from a single source.
